Large margins, tied by blue "Lynchburg, Va." cds on 1862 folded cover to Savannah, Ga., adhesive additional tied by matching "Due 5" handstamp with 2nd strike at right, handstamped on arrival "Due 5" in red oval, interesting letter includes, "The girls are preparing to give, a concert to raise some money to aid the ladies of Richmond and Lynchburg in collecting money for construction of a gun boat. I have a house full of refugees from Northern Virginia.", Very Fine.

Horiz. pair, four margins (small nick at top & light, unnoticeable staining), tied by "Richmond, Va./Jul. 2, 1862" (2nd day of 10¢ rate) over United States 1861 3¢ postal entire to Clarksville, Va., minor cover wear, Very Fine, This die was issued in August 1861, after the C.S.A. Post Office was operating. It was not a "pre-war remainder".
