Printed cover to with illustrated Zeus corner card cover used as a paste-up with 1864-65 3¢ entire with Wells, Fargo & Co. company frank & cancelled by blue "Wells, Fargo & Co./Sacramento" double circle handstamp, addressed to Knights Landing, Very Fine, a very unusual usage.

Adams & Co., Sacramento. Two different express handstamps on four folded letters; two with blue double circle date stamps, one with matching "Paid" in octagon handstamp, other two with red Express oval handstamp and one with matching red "Paid" in octagon (file fold splitting), Very Fine.

Adams & Co.'s, Express, Sacramento. Exceptional strike of red dotted oval handstamp on folded letter to San Francisco, red "Paid" straight line handstamp, letter datelined "Sac City, Dec 19, 1851", Extremely Fine, one of the earliest usage of this oval handstamp.
Estimate    $300 - 400.

Adams & Co. expanded to Sacramento when it bought Freeman's Express on November 14th, 1851.
