O., Examined C.S." oval handstamp and routing endorsement at top, franked with U.S. 1861, 3¢ rose (staining and nibbed corner) tied by "Sandusky, O., Feb 17, 1865" cds and target duplex, in combination with 1863, 10¢ blue tied by Richmond cds, Fine.

Prisoner cover to St. George, West Virginia, franked with U.S. 1861 3¢ rose tied by "Rock Island, Ill., Feb 12, 1864" cds and target duplex, circular examiner's handstamp with "Capt. A.D. Collins" removed (type 1b), minor cover edge wear, otherwise Very Fine, most likely the earliest known example of this examiner's handstamp, the earliest reported use being Feburary 29, 1864.

Prisoner of war cover addressed to Blairsville, Pa., soldier's endorsement at top and "Via Flag of Truce, Hilton Head" at lower left, "Port Royal, S.C., Sep 27, 1864" cds, additional agent of exchange and examiners' endorsement at left, light allover cover wear, F.-V.F., a very scarce usage from Roper Hospital.
