Nova Scotia, 1853, 1d red brown. Slightly cut in, bright fresh color, tied by grid on 1859 printed circular from Halifax to Sherbourne, F.-V.F., a very rare single franking usage of which only a handful are known, ex-Pilkington. SG No. 1.

Nova Scotia, 1851, 6d yellow green. Four mostly large margins, close at top left, deep fresh color, tied by neat strike of grid cancel on 1860 cover with manuscript origin marking "Cape North, CB/24th July 1860" (which is at the extreme northern tip of Cape Breton) to North Oxford, Mass., carried to Baddeck with July 28th backstamp & red "Paid 10" circular handstamp on front, part of flap missing, Very Fine, a fine usage from this remote part of Nova Scotia. SG No. 5.
