St. Vincent, 1863, 1d rose red, perf 11-12½. Tied by "A10" barred oval cancel on 1869 outer letter sheet to Paris with red "St. Vincent" cds alongside, left 4d with nick at bottom left, Very Fine and attractive, a lovely exhibition item from the Duke de Polignac correspondence.

St. Vincent, 1869, 4d yellow, perf 11-12½. Tied by "A10" barred oval cancel on 1869 outer letter sheet to Paris with light strike of red "St. Vincent" cds alongside, small unnoticable cover tear at top, Very Fine and attractive, a lovely cover from the Duke de Polignac correspondence. SG No. 12.

Samoa, 1841-1872 inter-island stampless covers. Lot of 12 inter-island folded letter from the Nesbit correspondence, datelines include Matautu (2), Pago Pago, Leone, Malua (2), Falealili, etc., some without dateline, F.-V.F., a scarce early group of covers.

Lot 2274    

Samoa, 1845 stampless cover to Glasgow. Folded letter datelined "Upolu, Samoa, 20th June '45", sent via Sydney with red oval "Paid Ship Letter Sydney" handstamp & manuscript "8" ship rate, lengthy letter with fascinating contents, backstamped with "Glasgow 25 Fe 1846" handstamp (8 months after the letter was written), some slight soiling, also second folded letter datelined "Malua, Upolu, Samoa, June 15, '69", to London sent via Sydney where New South Wales adhesive was cancelled by Sydney duplex, adhesive has been subsequently removed, Very Fine.

Lot of seven incoming folded letters to Samoa from London or Glasgow, sent via Sydney, all with black "Sydney Ship Letter" handstamp on reverse, addressed to Rev. Nesbit, all with vert file fold & two with soiling or discoloration, F.-V.F., a rare and valuable group.
