Central Overland California & Pike's Peak Express Co., St, Joseph. Mo., Feb 6. Clear strike of blue oval handstamp on illustrated silverware manufacturers corner card cover to Mountain City, Kansas Territory, franked with 1857, 1 blue, type V, pair and single tied by "Chicago, Ill., Feb 5" cds and grid duplexes, endorsed care of "OC & PP Exp" at bottom left, cover with small tear at bottom and reduced at left into cornercard, otherwise Very Fine, an attractive express usage to Kansas Territory; with 2004 P.F. certificate.

Clear blue boxed handstamp on 1858 cover to Burham, Maine, franked with 1857, 10¢ green, type I tied by "Camptonville, Cal., Jan 18" cds, docketing and additional notations, cover with slight edge restoration, Very Fine, a wonderful example of this rare express, believed to be the latest known usage.

Blue oval handstamp with matching "Paid" in octagon handstamp alongside, on 1853 cover to San Francisco with small black illustrated steamboat frank at top left, Extremely Fine, quite possibly the finest known example of this extremely rare Wells, Fargo & Co. frank; with 2004 P.F. certificate.

L7-34) handstamp on 1864-65 3¢ entire with company frank to San Francisco with blue Wells, Fargo & Co. oval receiving handstamp applied on arrival (this cancel is some often seen cancelling revenue stamps), flap torn with some minor soiling, Fine and scarce.

Black on orange printed label (Mosher WFCX-L500) with "GH & SA" in manuscript on reverse of 2¢ entire (U228) with black "Domestic Frank" to El Paso, manuscript notation on front "$5.15" & "Chge Paid", slightly reduced at right, F.-V.F., a very rare item carried on the Galveston, Harrisburg & San Antonio Route.
