Confederacy Camp Boggs. Cover addressed to San Antonio, Texas, reverse with "Approved E.W. Guindon" manuscript examiner's marking, entered the mails with "Shreveport, La., Jul, 26, 1864" cds and manuscript "20" rate alongside, "Ch 132, P & Co." at top left, cover stains and small corner nick at bottom right, F.-V.F., an extremely rare Confederate prisoner cover from Camp Boggs, only one reported cover and this cover making two known usages.

Confederacy Camp Douglas, Prisoner's Letter, Examined. Partial blue oval handstamp on reverse of cover to Philadelphia, Pa., franked with U.S. 1861 3¢ rose (crease) tied by large blue grid cancel, matching "Chicago, Ill, Dec 9, 63" cds alongside, light cover soiling and reduced at left, Fine.

Endorsement at top of cover to Staunton, Va., franked with 1863, 10¢ blue tied by indistinct Richmond, Va. cds, with original enclosure datelined "near Baltimore, Nov 3rd, 1864" with interesting content regarding requirements for sending flag of truce mail, prisoner's, etc., cover reduced at right, F.-V.F.

Confederacy Hilton Head, S.C. Imprint at top of cover to New Bedford, Mass., franked with U.S. 1861 3¢ rose tied by target, matching "Port Royal, S.C., Mar 26" cds alongside, Very Fine.

Hilton Head, an island of the coast of South Carolina guarding the entrance to Port Royal, was the site of a temporary prisoner of war camp.

Reid, franked with U.S. 1861 3¢ rose tied by grid cancel and "Old Point Comfort, Va., Sep 14" cds, "Ex J.W.R." examiner's marking, with original 1864 enclosure from Eatonton, Ga., ususal stamp and cover wear, F.-V.F., a scarce incoming cover and letter to a P.O.W.

Cover to Washington City, D.C., franked with U.S. 1861, 3¢ rose tied by "New Orleans, La., Oct 13, 64" cds and target duplex, manuscript "Examined J.P.C." at left, docketing with notation "Letter forwarded by Gen. Hitchcock", Very Fine, a rare prisoner of war cover from Union occupied New Orleans, with only 11 cover in total known from New Orleans; with 1983 P.F. certificate.

Dateline on folded letter to France, through-the-lines with red "Forwarded By, Renauld Francois Co., New York" oval handstamp on reverse, entered the mails with "New York, 18, Jul 27" integral rate cds, red French entry cds and "16" due handstamp, receiving backstamp, Very Fine, a very scarce through the lines usage to France.

Confederacy Per Flag of Truce, via Fort Monroe. Routing instructions on 1863 P.O.W. cover to Warrenton, N.C., franked with U.S. 1861 3¢ rose just tied by grid cancel, endorsed "W.J. Green, Prisoner of War, A.D.C. Daniel's Brigade at top", docketed "24 August 1863" in pencil on reverse, Very Fine, most likely from Johnson's Island, Ohio prison as W.J. Green is known to have been imprisoned there in the early part of 1864.
