1861, 1¢ blue, type I. Immaculate Post Office fresh original gum which is lightly hinged, remarkably well centered clearly showing full scrolls at top and bottom, strong bright color, wonderful freshness, Extremely Fine and choice, a rare mint stamp in such exceptional condition; with photocopy of 1989 P.F. certificate for block.

1857, 1¢ blue, type II. Plate 12, position 9L, full fresh original gum, very lightly hinged, wonderfully centered amid unusually wide margins, rich vibrant color and immaculate freshness, an Extremely Fine gem, a truly outstanding mint stamp; with 2003 and 2004 P.F. certificates.

1857, 1¢ blue, type II. Plate II, neat town cancel, perfectly centered, rich bold color and sharp crisp impression on bright fresh paper, Extremely Fine and choice, a gorgeous gem; with 1980 P.F. certificate and 2004 P.S.E. graded certificate (XF-Sup 95).
Scott No. 20    $275.

This is the sole example attaining the grade of "XF-Superb 95" in the P.S.E. Population Report, with none higher.

1857, 1¢ blue, type III. Position 99R2, black town cancel, centered to the left with wide top and bottom margin clearly showing wide breaks in framelines, rich bold color, light horizontal crease barely visible on reverse only and not mention on certificate, still Very Fine, a lovely attractive example of this extremely rare stamp, with this position bearing the finest example of the 1857 1¢ blue, type III, ex-Grunin Grand Prix National Collection; with 1971 P.F. certificate.

1857, 1¢ blue, type III. Pos. 36L4, red "New York" Carrier cancellation, perfectly centered amid near full margins, beautiful rich deep color and proof-like impression on pristine and bright paper, Extremely Fine and choice, a wonderful and striking used gem; with 1986, 1994 P.F. certificates and 2005 P.S.E. graded certificate (XF-Sup 95).
Scott No. 21    $2,750.

This is one of five examples attaining the grade of "XF-Superb 95" in the P.S.E. Population Report, with none higher. However, in our opinion this is the most visually appealing of the five, set off by the red Carrier cancel.

1857, 1¢ blue, type V. Right margin plate "No. 10.P." block of 8 with imprint, o.g., never hinged, beautifully centered, rich vibrant color and remarkably fresh, Extremely Fine, a wonderful plate block in choice never hinged condition, possibly the finest known example; with 1987 P.F. certificate.
