Large illustrated design in green on 1881 cover showing "No. 22 Exact Size" Revolver, franked with 3¢ Bank Note (minor gum stain) tied New York duplex postmark, small tear at left, otherwise fresh and Very Fine, a spectacular design, ex-Beals, where this cover sold for $325 + 10% buyer's premium.

Spencer Repeating Shot Gun. Illustrated design on 1891 cover showing "New Spencer.-Model 1890" Shotgun, franked with 1890 2¢ (defective) tied by New York duplex cancel, reverse with all over advertising text expounding the advantages of the Spencer Shotgun, irregularly reduced at right, Fine.
Estimate    $75 - 100.

The Spencer Sporting Arms Company was founded in 1883 and was sold to Francis Bannerman in 1890. The Model 1890 Spencer Shotgun, 12 gauge round barrel, slide action was produced by Bannerman, based on Spencer's Patent of 1882.
