Lot 2935Uruguay, 1859, 80c orange. Type 3, ample to large margins, tied by fancy "Scarab" cancel on 1859 folded letter postmarked with two strikes of "Salto Renta de Correos" cds to Montevideo, F.-V.F., a wonderful item for the specialist.

The plate for the 80c value was made after the 180c value, by erasing the "1". Nearly all of the "1" is present on the stamp proving that the 180c was printed before the 80c.
