Uruguay, 1859, 180c green, mint multiple study group. A wonderful lot of mint multiples, all have been plated, the lot includes two sheet margin pairs, five blocks of 4 (one with interesting pre-paper fold), plus one block of 6, all with full o.g., large margins, all in sound condition but one block of 4 (light creasing & toned spots), Extremely Fine.

Uruguay, 1859, 180c green, mint & used study group. A lovely lot of 25 mint singles & 14 used singles, all but two used examples with four margins, couple minor flaws, generally Extremely Fine.

Uruguay, 1859, 240c vermilion. Lot of nine unused singles & two pairs, some with o.g. including one pair (ex-Caspary), all but one with large margins, couple small faults, Very Fine.

Uruguay, 1859, 240c vermilion. Block of 4 (types 5-8), fuill o.g., hinge remnant, large even margins, two light creases, tiny pinpoint thin in margin between bottom stamps, Very Fine, a very rare multiple; signed Diaz.

Uruguay, 1859, 240c vermilion. Lot of seventeen used singles, most with four margins, nice variety of cancels, mixed condition, F.-V.F., a very nice group worth careful inspection.

Uruguay, 1859, 240c vermilion. Two singles in different shades, both with four large margins, postmarked with Montevideo oval, Extremely Fine and choice.

Lot 2955    

Uruguay, 1859, 240c vermilion. Large margins to cut in at top, bottom right corner with sealed tear, nicely tied on folded letter to Buenos Aires by "Montevideo 11 Abril 1864" oval postmark, Fine and rare, a rare stamp on cover paying the correct triple letter rate to a Foreign Country, used over two years later than the latest recorded date by Lee.

Uruguay, 1859, 60c-240c Sun issue, thin numerals, balance lot. A wonderful lot of mint & used singles, plus a nice array of covers which include four cover & one front franked with single 60c, one large fragment with 80c & one 120c blue on folded letter, off cover stamps include 60c-240c complete set of mint singles, 60c two mint singles, two mint pairs, 30 used singles & a mixed mint & used reconstruction of all 20 types, 80c two mint & ten used, 100c four mint & nine used, 120c three mint & 22 used, 180c mint block of 4 & 6, 27 mint singles, reconstruction of 20 different types (all but one mint), seven used, 240c four mint singles & lovely mint pair, five used, many different cancels, shades & plate varieties present, mixed condition, a great lot for study (no photo).
