1862, 24¢ red lilac + two 2¢ black. Paying the 28¢ Prussian Closed Mail rate on a cover to Bavaria, blue target cancels tie adhesives with matching Appleton, Wis. cds with red "Detroit Mich. Am Pkt. Paid 7" exchange marking at bottom right, one 2¢ Blackjack with minor flaw due to placement at edge of cover, Very Fine, the Detroit exchange postmark is very rare, a lovely cover; with 2005 P.S.E. certificate.

Tied by grid on 1862 folded letter to Liverpool with indistinct red postmark, cover forwarded to London with Forwarder's handstamp "Brown, Shipley & Co./Liverpool", placed in mails by forwarder & franked with Great Britain 1d red tied by Liverpool duplex cancel, flap tear on reverse, Extremely Fine and choice, a lovely combination cover.

1862, 24¢ red lilac. Couple of slightly blunt perfs at top, lovely deep red lilac shade, neatly tied by Washington, D.C. double circle postmark on 1864 cover to Great Britain with red "Boston Br. Pkt./19 Paid" cds, flap tear which extends slight on to front at top, Very Fine and attractive.

Lovely rich shade with sharp clear impression, tied by perfect strike of Large Boston Paid grid on 1862 cover to London with colorless embossed monogram at top right, postmarked neat strike of red "Boston Br. Pkt./19 Paid" cds & red London arrival cds, Extremely Fine and choice, a gorgeous cover, ex-Lehman.
