Confederacy, Little Rock, Ark./Jan. 27. Clear strike of double-circle datestamp with "10" handstamp on Adversity lady's cover made from printed ledger sheet to Navasote Depot Texas, docketing at left indicates military origination, Very Fine.

Confederacy, Coushattee Chute, La/Aug. 53 (Inverted). Neat postmark on 1853-55 3¢ Nesbitt entire which has been crossed out with manuscript "Paid 5" rate alongside, small ink erosion in the "d" of "Paid", F.-V.F.

Confederacy, Pleasant Hill, La./Jun 6 ('61). Small size cds with "Paid" handstamp at left on 1860-61 3¢ Star Die entire to New Orleans, Very Fine and attractive, the use of United States postage ceased on June 1, 1861, however either the Postmaster accepted this as payment of the postage or the entire was disregarded and the sender paid 5¢ in cash with the cover being marked Paid.

Confederacy, Hallettsville, Tex. Cds on soldier's cover to Victoria, Texas with unusual small type "Due 10" handstamp, some cover aging, Very Fine, a very attractive cover with this unlisted "Due 10" handstamp, ex-Hill.

Confederacy, Franklin Depot, Va. Blue cds with matching "Due 10" handstamp on buff Soldier's cover (endorsement at top left) to Buena Vista, Ga., cover forwarded to Morris Station with red "Buena Vista" cds & two strikes of straight line "Paid" & on of "10" rate marking, cover then returned to Buena Vista, trivial ink erosion at right, Very Fine; with 1991 C.S.A. certificate.
Estimate    $300 - 400.

The Postmasters apparently unsure of the rates and the forwarding procedures for a soldier's cover, lined through all of the rate markings and a single manuscript "Paid 10" was applied in the upper right corner to indicate that the cover was to be considered as fully paid. A most unusual and rare item.

Confederacy, Richmond, Va. Cds on 1862 orange Soldier's cover to Columbus, Ga. with matching straight line "Due 10" rate handstamp, additional struck by Columbus "Due 10" in circle, Soldier's endorsement at bottom left, minor flap tears, Extremely Fine, a most unusual item.

Somewhat faded strike of large red oval handstamp on 1853-55 3¢ Nesbitt entire to New Orleans with "New Orleans Mar. 12, '61" arrival double circle postmark, flap missing, tiny sealed tear at top & some toning, Fine, a very rare Confederate States Steamboat cover; with 1981 P.F. certificate. Milgram No. 1372.

Perfect strike in oval handstamp on cover from Glenns Falls, N.Y. to Richmond, Va., franked with 1861 3¢ rose (small tear) tied by fancy star cancel with double circle postmark alongside, Very Fine, one of the finest known examples & a rare exhibition item, ex-Matz; with 1986 C.S.A. certificate.
