Bolivia, 1878, 20c green, horizontal strip of three. In combination with 1887, 5c blue, horizontal strip of 4 on 1888 certified cover to Berlin, Germany, tied by cork cancels with matching "Tarifa, Bolivia, 29 Oct, 88" cds and Certificado straight line handstamps on front and sealing backflaps, "Buenos Aires, Nov 16" transit backstamp; 5c strip with nick in left stamp, otherwise Very Fine.

Bolivia, 1887, 1c rose, vertical strip of 5 and single + 5c three singles. Two 5c singles on reverse, on 1890 registered cover to Hannover, Germany, tied by "Correos, Lima, 25 Marz, 90" oval date stamps, Lima and La Paz registry handstamps and receiving backstamp, Very Fine.

Target canceled on 1893 registered cover to Colon, Columbia, Lima registry boxed handstamp and reverse with La Paz registry etiquette, Lima and Panama transit cds's and receiving postmark; minor stamp and cover flaws, otherwise Very Fine.

Tied by "Rio de Janiero, 22 Nov. 98" cds's on cover to Maspeth, N.Y., "Collect Postage, 11 Cents" handstamp with cork canceled U.S. 1895 1¢ + 10¢ Postage Dues, N.Y. entry and receiving backstamps; Brazil 100r with upper right corner defect and 1¢ postage due with tear at bottom, F.-V.F., a colorful and very scarce combination use of the Madrugada issue with U.S. postage dues.

China, 1932, 1¢-10¢ Sven Hedin Expedition set complete. A wonderful specialized collection which includes two covers with complete sets, the 1st used in 1933 from Peking to Cheking with photo of Hedin & original handwritten signed letter enclosing four sets of the Expedition stamps (not present) at $10 a set, 2nd from Peking to Hedin's daughter in Sweden with autograph on cover, plus seven additional related covers including 1928 Registered cover to Berlin with bilingual "Sino-Swedish Sinkiang Expedition/Sven Hedin, Leader" printed return address on flap, two registered cover written in Hedin's hand with signature (one to Sweden & one to United States), three covers sent by N. Ambolt (a member of the Expedition) & one addressed to him will on the expedition, some minor faults, Very Fine, a fascinating group. SG No. 406-409. Ma No. 359-362.
