France, 1873, 10c bister on rose + 90c rose on pinkish, large numerals. In combination with 1870, 40c orange, small numerals on 1876 folded letter sheet to New Orleans, La., tied by "Bordeaux, Juil, 13" cds's, red New York entry cds and receiving backstamp; bottom part of letter sheet missing, otherwise Very Fine.

Lot 1992    

France, 1875 Trans-Atlantic combination cover from Argentina. A lovely folded letter to Bordeaux franked with Argentina 5c Rivadavia tied by Buenos Aires double circle postmark in combination with France 80c Cérès tied by neat Anchor lozenge with French Packet octagon "Buenos-Aires Paq. Fr. J. No. 1" postmark at right, also an off cover 80c Cérès with French Packet octagon "Buenos-Aires Paq. Fr. J. No. 1" postmark, which is quite rare as the adhesive were normally cancelled by the anchor, Very Fine, a wonderful exhibition item.
