France, 1668 folded letter from Paris to St. Paul. Datelined 14th December 1668 with manuscript "3" sols rate on front indicating collect for letter, Very Fine, markings on the face for collect letters were first used about 1660 with prepaid letters being marked on the back.

Special printed letter sheet datelined "Paris le 1 Novembre, 1870" and address to St. Petersbourg, Russie, franked with 1868, 80c rose tied by "2" dotted star cancel with "Paris, 1 Nov, 70" cds alongside, without receiving postmark on reverse; cover pristine as if it had been delivered to addressee yesterday, Extremely Fine and choice, a magnificent cover in both overall condition and destination.
