By Steamer Rapides. Perfect strike of illustrated packetboat marking on blue folded cover to New Orleans, postmarked red "New Orleans La. Dec. 20" circular datestamp, vertical file fold affects marking, small hole at bottom of design painted in, missing stamp at top right, Fine, a rare example of this packetboat marking. Milgram No. 1158.

Bold red oval with ornament on fresh 1855 folded letter datelined "Morehouse Parish" to New Orleans, franked with 1851 3¢ Dull Red (11) drastically cut-in at bottom (possibly a twice used stamp with offending cancel cut away), tied by "Steam" handstamp with red New Orleans cds alongside with Masonic address, Very Fine.
