1857, 5¢ red brown, type I + 10¢ green, type III (strip of 3). Tied by blue "Economy Ind. Jan. 20" circular datestamp on cover to Switzerland, markings include red "New-York Am. Pkt. Jan. 29" and various other transit backstamps, red boxed "Aachen Franco" handstamp and 12¢ credit, center stamp in strip with some clipped perfs, some minor wear, Fine.

Well centered with rich distinctive color, in combination with 1857, 10¢ green, type II on fresh 1869 folded letter to Paris, France, tied by "New Brighton, N.Y." balloon and red "New York, Paid 12, Oct 26" exchange cds's all in red, French entry postmark and receiving backstamp, Extremely Fine, a wonderful and choice usage of the scarce 5¢ Indian red issue; with 1998 P.S.E. certificate.

Pkt., Jun 19" exchange and red London transit cds's, 14 anna due handstamp at left and Bombay transit and receiving backstamps, Extremely Fine, a choice usage from the Goddard correspondence; with 2001 P.F. certificate.

Paid 7" credit datestamp also ties strip, markings include red framed "Aachen Franco" handstamp, receiving backstamp, blunt perfs at bottom of two left stamps (not mentioned on cert.), cover with small piece added at top right, Very Fine, a scarce strip of three of the Type I 1857 Issue to Austria; with 2005 P.F. certificate.
