Sacramento, Sep 30 am (Sacramento), manuscript postmark (Williams SAC-2460) with "Paid 40" rate, on 1849 cover to East Lyman, N.H., with original enclosure datelined "Sierra nevia Mountains" to family letting them know he had arrived safely having last written at Fort Laramie and recent account of his journey into California, Extremely Fine, a wonderful cover and letter of a newly arrived forty-niner.

Sacramento, Cal., 40, May 28, 1850 (Sacramento), integral rate cds (Williams SAC-2490) on cover to New York, NY, with interesting 3-page letter that talks of going to Canon Creek and now in Sacramento, packet of letters burned in the San Francisco fire, lending money at 7 ½% interest a month, buying a ship and going to Hawaii; cover open at sides and missing backflap, Very Fine.
