1861, 1¢ blue + 10¢ green (pair), pen cancelled on a small 1867 cover to Switzerland, marked "Tombé à la Boîte" (fallen in the box) and returned to the U.S.A., with numerous transit and backstamps; one 10¢ defective and a minor cover repair at top, otherwise F.-V.F.

1861, 3¢ pink, horizontal pair and 8 singles, rich true pink shade, 3 singles with natural gutter margin s.e.'s with one showing partial gutterline, each manuscript canceled on 1862 cover to Zurich, Switzerland, manuscript "Helena Nebraska, Mar 1st, 1862" territorial postmark at top left, red transit handstamps tying stamps including "New York, & Paid, Mar 12" cds and Aachen box date stamp, partial receiving backstamp; several stamps at top with light creases and perf edge wear, F.-V.F., a remarkable and extremely rare multiple usage of the 1861, 3¢ pink used on a transatlantic cover from Nebraska territory; with 2000 P.F. certificate.

1877 Mixed franking cover from Mexico to Washington D.C., addressed to the secretary of Mexican War Survivors, with a rare late usage of 1861, 3¢ rose in combination with Mexico 1864, 25c blue, each tied by full strike of green "Franco en Monterrey, 14 Set, 77" oval postmark, Very Fine, an extremely rare combination usage from Monterrey, Mexico, ex Ishikawa; with 1993 P.F. certificate.

1861, 3¢ rose, seven examples tied by blue target cancels on an 1862 cover from Chicago to Brussels, Belgium, with numerous transit and backstamps including the scarce red "Chicago Am. Pkt Paid" exchange marking; minor backflap damage and some slight cover restoration, otherwise F.-V.F., most attractive & an unusual way to pay the rate.

1861, 10¢ yellow green, manuscript canceled and tied by light target on 1868 small ladies cover to the U.S. Consulate in Swatow, China, light "Stratham, N.H., Nov 12" origin cds additionally tying stamp, endorsed "U.S. Mail via Panama" with red straight line "Paid All" and Swatow receiver on front, reverse with N.Y. and Hong Kong transit cds's, Very Fine, an attractive usage to China via Panama.

1861, 30¢ orange + 24¢ steel blue + 1¢ blue, vertical pair, all tied by blue "Chicago, Ill, Sep 12" cds and target duplexes on 1861 cover paying the double Prussian closed mail rate to Lechausen, Germany, red "Chicago, Ill., Am. Pkt., 14 Paid" exchange handstamp and red Aachen boxed transit date stamp, reverse with tombstone receiving date stamp; 24¢ with slight indentation and 30¢ with faint crease at right, otherwise Very Fine, a lovely 3-color franking to Bavaria per Prussian closed mail; with 2005 P.F. certificate.
