1869, 1¢ buff + 3¢ ultramarine, strip of three, uprating on 1861, 10¢ yellow green entire to Leipez, Germany paying the 1870 double N.G.U. rate, tied by "Peoria, Ill., Aug 15" cds and cork duplexes, red "New York Paid All, Br. transit, Aug 18" exchange cds, transit backstamp; cover missing most of backflap and 1¢ stamp with corner crease, Very Fine appearance, a rare combination usage to Germany, ex Gibson.

1869, 1¢ buff + 3¢ ultramarine, just tied by large rosette cancels on 1870 cover paying the 4¢ open mail rate via England to Paris, France, red "New York, Feb 26" cds and "10" decimes due handstamp applied upon arrival, reverse with red London transit cds and "Short Paid" straight line handstamp; tiny cover tear at left, Very Fine.

1869, 2¢ brown, in combination with 1870, 6¢ carmine, grill on 1870 cover paying the double 4¢ open mail rate to Pau, France, red New York exchange cds and British accountancy handstamp, manuscript "15" decimes due and reverse with London transit and arrival date stamps; cover wear and small nick in 6¢ at bottom, F.-V.F., a rare double rate mixed issue franking and a very early usage of the 1870 6¢ Banknote issue; signed Ashbrook with notes on reverse.
