Confederacy, Sandidges, Va Jan 26, manuscript postmark on homemade cover franked with pair of 1862, 5¢ blue, Archer & Daly printing (four margins), manuscript cancelled & addressed to Fabers Mills, Va., Very Fine and choice, Rare town - owner says the only one recorded.

Confederacy, Staunton, Va., Sep 23, 1861, town postmark on cover to Lexington, Va. with matching "Paid" and "10" rate handstamps, addressee notations "charge box 172" and "Per Pony Express to Saunton", F.-V.F., an unusual notation of "Pony Express" usage to Saunton, Va., ex Emerson, Knapp; with 2007 C.S.A. certificate noting unable to determine origin of manuscript notation.

Feb 21, rare manuscript cancel (Talcott is now named Randolph) on cover franked with 1861, 10¢ blue (huge margins, trivial bend), pen canceled to Bottetourte Spring, Va (sic) Care of C.L. Cocke of Hollins Institute (the founder), tiny cover reduction at left, Extremely Fine and scarce.

Confederacy, Tudor Hall, Va. 1861, cds with handstamped (Due) "10" on all over Commission Merchant advertising cover in pale orange with docketing of a private in "Comp E. Capt. T.J. Smith 15 Ga Reg Col. T. W. Thomas", slightly reduced at right and a bit of wear, Fine, scarce and attractive use.
