Confederacy, 1862, 5¢ black, De La Rue Printing, Trial Color Die Proof on Glazed Card, with the following pencil notation on verso "Presented to August Dietz of Richmond, Va. in 1918 when he wrote De La Rue for information concerning the stamps. Mr. Dietz presented it to me in 1920. E. S. Knapp. He had 2 and gave W S Ahern the other.", Superb and rare, a wonderful item with great Provenance, ex-Dietz, Knapp.
