Red full straight line postmark on reverse of 1771 folded letter to New York, addressed to Isreal Pemberton at Thomas Franklin's (Benjamin Franklin's oldest brother), red "2" (dwt) rate and "26, Ma" & "27, Ma" Bishop marks on reverse, Very Fine, a very scarce Philadelphia colonial postmark.

Philadelphia, Pa. to London, England, 1744. Transatlantic addressed to London with notation by addressee "Philad. 20(th day) 6mo. From Sam'l Pember(ton) rec'd 9th Mo 27th at Chillingwood in Somerschire", brown London Bishop marking "19 NO" for the 19th of November, notations "/ /" apparently applied in London where a "SHIPP" handstamp was also applied, otherwise Very Fine.

Philadelphia, Pa. to London, England, 1748. Manuscript "Phi. Paid 3:8 dwt" on folded letter sheet to James Pemberton, with notation "p. First ship from NYK.", with brown "13 Ap" & "17 Ap" bishops mark on reverse appearing to denote a 1749 receipt of the letter from a six month journey; slight cover toning, Very Fine.

Folded letter sheet via Ireland, straight line "Cork" postmark and "Country" straight line on reverse, brown Bishop mark "28 JA" upon arrival in London, brown crown applied over that to apparently cover up a rating mark in the shape of an "H." magenta "8N" and brown "IN8" and "HR" manuscripts, Very Fine.

Folded letter sheet with "Via Ireland, For John Pemberton of Philadelphia" endorsement at bottom, upon arrival in London, a black straight line "Waterford" was applied and a black ""Ship", along with "/ / " at left, reverse with "4 JA" London brown bishop marking, docketed "Philad 13th 10th Mo, 1753 From Israel Pemberton, My Father, Rec'd at London via Ireland", cover was addressed by the King of the Quakers, Israel Pemberton, F.-V.F.
