1861, 1¢ blue + 3¢ dull rose. Neatly arrange at sides of cover & tied by oblong Boston Paid cancels with red cds alongside, small multicolor label affixed at center showing design of Cupid, cover addressed to "Henry White, Masters Mate, U.S.A. Steamer Hendric Hudson, Eastern Gulf Blockading Squadron, Key West, Fla." with original enclosure, adhesives with hidden defect, Very Fine, a wonderful address.

1861, 1¢ blue. Horizontal pair and single, rich color, tied by two strikes of blue "Chicago, Ills., Sep 1" cds and target duplex cancels on fresh cover to Burlington, Iowa, with bold allover H. Shufeldt spirit distiller ad on reverse; slight cover reduction at left, Very Fine.

1861, 3¢ pink. 2 singles on embossed patriotic cover, back flaps edged in blue and red, with General Banks Division (GBD) dated cancel, striking with that cancel on the pink stamps, certificate states "with some foreign matter under the left stamp causing small faults", F.-V.F.; with 1995 P.F. certificate.

1861, 3¢ pink. S.e. at right on 1861 folded letter sheet made from Louisville and Troy Packet illustrated way bill form, in combination with 1857, 3¢ dull red (s.e. at left), canceled by blue grid cancels with matching Louisville, Ky cds alongside, F.-V.F., a lovely and most certainly a Old Stamps Not Recognized usage, signed Ashbrook as probable the usage and certificate noting 1861 3¢ as a rose pink; with 2008 Weiss certificate.

1861, 3¢ pink. S.e. at left, rich true pink shade, neatly cancelled by blue straight line "Paid" handstamp on 1861 cover with matching "Sodus, N.Y." cds, cover with light horiz. fold, Very Fine and attractive; with 1982 P.F. certificate.

Strong bold color and nicely centered, tied by blue "Saint Denis, Md., Feb 21" cds on cover to Lewiston, Me.; cover reduced at left and stamp with light perf toning and slightly nibbed perf at top, F.-V.F. appearance, described on reverse by Judd as a 3¢ Pigeon Blood pink however we believe that this may no longer be the case.

Barnum as President & Hyatt Frost General Director who sent original 3-page enclosure, partial Amenia, N.Y. cds, Very Fine, a spectacular design.
