Cape of Good Hope, Field Post Office, British Army Service, 4, Sp 7, 00. Postmark used at Makeking on cover to London, England, addressed in crayon by a member of the 39th Company, 10th Battery, Imperial Yeomanry which was then attached to General Methuen's force, endorsed "No stamps obtainable" at top, red "London, Sp 29" transit and receiving backstamp, F.-V.F.

Cape of Good Hope, 1901 Registered Cover to Germiston, South Africa. Mourning cover originally addressed to Johannesburg from London, Oct 18th 1901 to a C Coy, Rand Rifles, Hines Division via Llandudno eventually transiting at Germiston 11th November where censored, then readdressed to Boksburg in contrasting red ink, arriving there 11th November; cover edge wear, Fine.
