(Placer) Auburn, Cal., Aug 7th (1852). Manuscript postmark (PLA-230) and manuscript "5", on outer wrapper addressed to 2nd governor of California at Vallejo (then the capital), 2 vertical file folds, only 3 manuscript cancels recorded, F.-V.F.

(Placer) Auburn, Cal., Aug 8 (1853). Cds postmark (PLA-250) and matching handstamp "PAID" and manuscript "29", to Paris, with various transit markings, edge wear and minor repairs, Fine.

(Placer) Auburn, Cal. 4 covers; 3 stampless with cds's, 3 are (Williams PLA-250) the "CAL" mark with a "Paid" with "6 in circle", then a "10" and thirdly on a 1853 3¢ red entire, 1 Cal (Williams PLA-240) in blue with "Paid" (different than previous example) and manuscript "12" for double 6¢ rate, F.-V.F.
