Confederacy, 1861, 5¢ green. Irregularly cut, tied by "Richmond, Va./Nov. 28, 1861" cds on United States 1861 3¢ Entire to Rumford, Va., the entire was undoubtedly an inner envelope sent through the lines & has a United States Half Dime (replaced) affixed to pay the Confederate States postage, Very Fine, a most attractive & scarce usage.

Confederacy, Richmond, Va. Cover addressed to Prisoner of War "Lt. Col. S. Brown" (most likely Libby Prison), reverse franked with manuscript canceled U.S. 1861, 3¢ rose over backflap (torn when opened), front with Wilkes Barre, Pa. cds and matching grid handstamp at left, Confederate States 1862, 5¢ blue affixed over postmark and tied by blue "Petersburg, Va., Jan 27" cds with second strike alongside; stamp lifted and hinged in place to show postmark underneath, Very Fine, a very scarce usage; with 2000 P.S.E. certificate.

"Prisoner of war letter" endorsed cover to Philadelphia, Pa., franked with 1862, 5¢ blue (edge flaws) in combination with U.S. 1861, 3¢ rose, both tied by "Salisbury, N.C., Jun 23" cds, 3¢ additionally tied by "Old Point Comfort, Va., Jul 12" cds, light pencil "Ex NK" examiner's marking, fresh and Very Fine, a rare combination usage from this Confederate prison.
