Cds with matching straight line "Paid" handstamp & manuscript "5" rate on turned cover to High Shoals, Ga., the inside use is a pre-War 1859 usage from Philadelphia to Clarksville, Ga. franked with 1857 3¢ dull red tied by "Philadelphia" octagon postmark, Very Fine, a scarce turned usage of a pre-War United States & Confederate States use.

Cds with manuscript day and matching "Paid 5" rate on fresh homemade cover to Skeenah, N.C., Very Fine, most likely a last day of the 5¢ rate usage as this cover is homemade, with 1976 Robert Werner letter regarding cover…is only the second one to be recorded in 14 years of research, ex Kohn, Werner.
