Hawaii, Inter-Island Steam Navigation Co., 1906-10. 5 covers; 3 with straight line "Kinau" date stamp, including 1906 usage to Kohala & 1907 usage on oversized 6 times rate on uprated 4¢ entire, both strikes in purple, other strike in red on 1908 cover to Waimea, purple 1909 oval S.S. Mauna Kea date stamp on 2¢ entire from Hilo to Kohala with additional straight line "Packet Boat" straight line handstamp, and 1910 W.G. Hall straight line date stamp on 2¢ entire from Honolulu to Waimea posted in Lihue, F.-V.F.

Hawaii, N-Z Marine P.O., 8 Au 96. Cds's (McNaught type 7) tying 1894, 1¢ yellow + 2¢ brown, horiz. pair on cover to Astoria, Oregon, reverse with "San Francisco, Paid All, Aug 27, 1896" transit and receiving cds's; few light cover soil spots and corner clip at top right affecting left 2¢ stamp, F.-V.F., a rare New Zealand Marine P.O. usage posted aboard the Alameda.

Hawaii, 1893 Missent To, San Francisco. Two line handstamp on 1893 incoming cover to Honolulu, franked with 5¢ small banknote tied by Washington D.C. origin machine postmark, "via Vancouver B.C." endorsement at top, San Francisco transit and Honolulu receiving backstamps, some minor cover tone spots, Very Fine, a choice strike of this very rare auxiliary marking.
Estimate    $150 - 200.

Lot 3313    

Hawaii, A.S. Cleghorn & Co., Honolulu, H.I., Sep 25. Ca. 1880's blue oval handstamp on front and reverse cover addressed to The Hon. Mrs. Cleghorn in Mana, manuscript "A.S.C." initials at lower left; cover edge wear at sides and small cover nick at right, Very Fine, a rare company handstamp on cover from Archibald S. Cleghorn, to his wife Princess Likelike.
Estimate    $200 - 300.

A.S. Cleghorn was the Collector General of Customs and owned a commission merchant store in Honolulu. This company handstamp, similar to his private handstamp, is unlisted by Gregory.

Hawaii, Held For Postage. Violet straight line handstamp (MH & Gregory unlisted) over matching "Collect, 2 Cents" handstamp on cover franked with uncancelled 1899 2¢ rose, postmarked Honolulu/Jun 19, 1900, used five days after the use of Hawaiian stamps were no longer valid, therefore Held For Postage with United States 2¢ Postage Due applied & tied on day later on June 20th with Honolulu duplex postmark, trivial trace of toned spots, Very Fine and choice; with 2006 P.F. certificate.

Wonderful strike of dateless handstamp (MH 759, 1RRRR) tying 1866, 5¢ blue, vertical pair on cover to New York with magenta Honolulu cds at left, backstamped with magenta San Francisco transit postmark, tiniest trace of perf tip toning, Very Fine, a very rare marking; with 2006 P.F. certificate.
