J.P. Wharton's Express/Gibsonville. Large blue circle handstamp on 1860, 3¢ pink entire (repaired along right side) to Pa., with Gibsonville, Cal., cds's, letter datelined "Jamison City, June 20 1863", Very Fine appearance, a very rare express marking.

Forwarded by Whiting & Co.'s Express/Oroville. Orange label mentioned in Nathan, to Crescent Mills, with manuscript "Adv $2.10" and "Coll $3", on buff cover with aging and reduced roughly at left, otherwise Fine.

Whiting & Co.'s Feather River Express. Printed frank (Haller FW12, Ty. 2) on 1853, 3¢ Nesbitt entire uprated with 1857, 1¢ blue, type V + 3¢, dull red, pair to Massachusetts., carried by Whiting & Co. to the post office, postmarked by "Marysville Cal. Paid by Stamps May. 4" blue cds and matching waffle grids tying stamps; 1¢ with natural s.e. at right, Extremely Fine, a very scarce early usage to the mails.
Estimate    $750 - 1,000.

Printed frank (Haller FW12, Ty. 2, printed at slight angle) on 1853-55 3¢ Nesbitt entire to "Meekers Flat, North Fork Feather River" conjunctive use with blue "Everts, Wilson & Co.'s Express Marysville" circular handstamp, trivial edge wear, Very Fine and rare.
Estimate    $500 - 750.

An unusual conjunctive usage because both company's served the same area, according to Nathan "Everts and Whiting were close friends and so Whiting made arrangements to turn over his express business on the Quincy to Marysville part of the route." -- this may be an example of that route sharing.

Printed frank in banner (Haller FW12, Ty. 3) on 3¢ pink entire to San Francisco, with manuscript "Val $10" & pencil "Collect 4/-"; with additional entire from same correspondence, Bamber & Co's Express printed frank on 3¢ pink entire with additional 3¢ rose, pen cancelled, with manuscript "10¢ extra paid" and "From Milpitas" and tiny "M" in top right corner; slight reductions, F.-V.F.
Estimate    $300 - 400.
