Treacher, London, Hamilton, Adams & Co.; without outer wrapper, pages rebacked and rebound in full leather.

The world's first illustrated stamp catalogue with only a handful of examples in existence.

Brown, Mount, Catalogue of British, Colonial and Foreign Postage Stamps. 1862-64, 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th editions; 3rd edition softbound colored wrapper, others bound in morocco leather, 2nd edition with price crossed-out and "Presentation Copy" added by author and signed, 3rd edition complimentary copy to Dr. John E. Gray (English author of Illustrated Catalogue of Postage Stamps) with original signed letter from Mount Brown tipped in; some cover wear, 4th edition with some page wear at one corner.

One of the earliest philatelic catalogues. Only 50 copies of the large paper edition where ever produced.

Dexter, G., Catalogue of Postage Stamps, American and Foreign, and U.S. Revenue Stamps. 1863, hardbound, 78pgs, owners name at top of front cover, normal wear.
Estimate    $100 - 150.

This is the first catalog of U.S. Revenues and the second U.S. catalog printed in the United States after Kline's (Crawford page 63).

Gray, Dr. John E., Hand Catalogue of Postage Stamps. 1862-70, 1st through 5th editions, hardbound, 2nd edition with second type cover (see Crawford pg 147); usual wear and all above average condition for these, 1st edition with rebound spine, ex Bellamy.
Estimate    $3,000 - 4,000.

A rare set of early English catalogues. Gray was a major early philatelic figure known for his interest in Penny Postage and his list of essays and proposals of the pre-Mulready period.

Kline, A.C., The Stamp Collector's Manual. 1862, 1st edition, softbound, 48pgs, few manuscript additions in listings; sealed tear in back cover and light wear.
Estimate    $400 - 600.

This is America's earliest stamp catalog which is practically a copy of the first edition of Mount Brown's catalogue, except of the list of United States issues.
