Western and Midwestern Covers. 24 covers including six Colorado expresses (two Central Overland California & Pike's Peak, three Hinkley, and one Jones & Russell), one "Free R.R.B." railroad business cover to W. B. Waddell in Leavenworth City, one Cheyenne & Black Hills Stage (with printed frank and Fort Laramie postmark), two Denver & Rio Grande (with printed franks, one to Denver with 1888 Denver postmark), one Livingston Fargo (with printed frank, to Ohio), four Pacific Express (two with globe printed franks with one to New York City with 1888 Salt Lake City postmark, and two with ornamented text printed franks with one to Saint Louis with "St. Louis Decatur Rte." route agent marking and 1888 Saint Louis postmark), and nine postal covers including four stampless (1833 Boston to Fort Towson, Arkansas Terr.; 1830 Niles, Michigan Terr.; Salt Lake City, Utah Terr., 5¢ collect rate with "per Adams Express" notation deleted; etc.) and five stamped (1862 Mountain City, Colorado Terr.; Fort Bridger, Utah Terr. (now Wyoming), 10¢ rate and "Due 10"; 1910 Leavenworth, Kansas, multicolored illustrated advertising for horse blankets, etc.), lot also includes an 1850 "Fort Laramie, O. R." handwritten marriage certificate, mixed condition, F.-V.F. overall.

Western Cover Balance, 1855-1940. Group of 51 covers & a couple postcards, mostly 19th Century and much territorial, including examples from Utah, New Mexico, Montana, Dakota, Wyoming, Kansas, Alaska, Hawaii, Colorado, Texas, Oregon, California, Idaho, Yukon Territory, etc., few interesting incoming, condition generally Fine to Very Fine, please inspect closely (no photo).

New Jersey Express Co. Three covers, each with a different oval company cameo corner card with horse's head logo, one "Nesbitt" type oval in blue (to Baltimore) and two belt-type ovals, one in red and one in blue (both to N.Y.C.), Very Fine, This Newark, N.J. express company operated between New York and Washington in 1854-56.

Adams Express Covers & Ephemera. 13 covers, mostly 1860's and couple later, including lovely brown illustrated team of horses pulling Adams Express wagon, green oval corner card, early manuscript "Expenses Paid", various other with Adams Express heading at top, ephemera including nice folded invoice with lithographed scene of train & coaches, other receipts and invoices, please inspect (no photo).
