Tied by "Sandusky, O., Dec 19, '64" cds and target duplex on Johnsons Island Prisoner of War Cover dropped in the mails locally, with bold "Prisoner's Letter, Johnsons Island, O., Examined G.S.B." oval handstamp (Harrison type 1); cover with some toning at right, otherwise Very Fine, a remarkable and very rare 2¢ Blackjack usage paying the drop rate on a prisoner of war cover, one of only a few such usage known, ex Haas; with 2009 P.F. certificate.

In combination with 1861, 1¢ blue on cover to prisoner at Johnson's Island Military Prison in Ohio, canceled by target handstamps with matching "Monticello, Mo., Mar 7" cds, manuscript "Ex DC" examiners marking (Dow Christ), pencil "$5.- Hill" docketing and "Mrch 20/65" on reverse, with original enclosure mentioning enclosed money; adhesives with tiny hidden defect and a few cover tone spots, otherwise Very Fine, a very scarce incoming cover to Johnson's Island prison; with 2009 P.F. certificate.

Todd" Provost Marshal's Office examiner handstamp (Harrison box type Ia) with manuscript "CWT" initials (Charles W. Thompson), Very Fine, a very rare Blackjack usage paying the drop rate from Old Capitol Prison bearing a rare Provost Marshall examiner's marking; with 2009 P.F. certificate.

Wood Supt." examiner handstamp (circular type I); cover with small tear at top center, corner repair at top right and partial backflap, otherwise Very Fine, rare with only 93 covers known from this prison and only a few franked with a 2¢ Blackjack, ex Emerson, Burrows; with 2009 P.F. certificate.
