Bear Town, Mont., Mar 5, 1870. Manuscript postmark (S&D type 1) tying 1867, 3¢ rose, F. grill, vertical strip of 5 on 1870 cover to Switzerland, with additional manuscript cancels and red New York exchange cds tying, transit backstamps; stamps with minor perf flaws, otherwise Very Fine, a very rare Montana territorial postmark and the earliest of only two recorded postmarks from this town.
