Wells, Fargo & Co./Ophir N.T./Jun. 5. Blue oval handstamp on 1864 3¢ pink entire with company frank at left and addressed to Carson City, entire with grey all-over shaded advertising of "Hackett & Kendall/ Dealers General Merchandise/Ophir, Nevada", corner slightly clipped to facilitate insertion of letter opener, otherwise Very Fine, the Wells, Fargo & Co. Ophir, Nevada cancel is very scarce and this example on a shaded ad cover is exceptional.

Red printed label tied by indistinct blue Wells, Fargo & Co. handstamp on plain cover without company frank or Gov't Indicium, to Cathey's Valley, Ca., some minor scuffs on label, Very Fine and choice, a very rare Wells, Fargo & Co. label, particularly tied by company handstamp.

Blue oval handstamp on 1864 3¢ pink entire with company frank to "Deep Creek, Surprise Valley Cala, Via Susanville", printed advertising corner card of forwarder/freight handler "John B. Williams, Successor to W.L. Perkins & Co." at bottom left, docketed "Jany 15 (18)70", tiny mended tear at right, Very Fine and choice.

Wells, Fargo & Co./Silver Park/Jun 22. Blue oval handstamp on 6¢ pink legal size entire with company frank to San Francisco, frank printed over obsolete "Pacific Union Express Co." frank, docketing on reverse indicates "1870" usage, cover is opened on all four sides and is held together at bottom by ½ inch of unsevered section, cover with wear & aging, Fine.
Estimate    $150 - 200.

Silver Park was a short-lived mining town located in Nevada's Nye County. Wells Fargo briefly maintained an office there in 1870-1871 with H. M. Barnes as agent.

The Wells, Fargo & Co. handstamp of Silver Park is unique, and this cover last sold in Siegel's 375th Sale in May of 1970.

Wells, Fargo & Co./Silver Springs/Nov. 18. Bold slightly blurred blue oval handstamp on 3¢ pink entire with company frank to San Francisco, docketed on rear "Nov. 1869", fresh and Very Fine.
Estimate    $100 - 150.

Wells Fargo's Silver Springs office was located in Nevada's White Pine Mining District, near the towns of Hamilton and Treasure City. The name "Silver Springs" was later changed to "Shermantown" and Wells, Fargo & Co. adapted its handstamps accordingly.

Wells, Fargo & Co./Starr City N. T./May 25. Full clear blue oval date stamp on 1864, 3¢ pink franked entire to Mokelumne Hill, Cal.; opening tear at top slightly affecting frank, otherwise Extremely Fine, an exceptional strike of this rare handstamp.

(Wells, Fargo & Co.) "Sweetwater, Nev.". Straight-line handstamp in violet on 2¢ brown entire with company frank to San Francisco, struck on arrival with "Wells, Fargo & Co./San Francisco" oval handstamp in similar violet ink, docketed on rear "3/5/'88" (1888), reduced a bit at right from opening, Very Fine, the only known handstamp from Wells Fargo's Sweetwater office.
