Used as postage on 8 covers franked with 1ch issue; three in combination with the 2ch issue from different towns including Taga Dzong, 3 single 1ch usages from Rolung and Paro (one with Ha Dzong and other with Taga Dzong transit backstamps), 3 early 1855-56 usages to Kalimpong including mixed franking India and two with different PRC frankings from Yatung, overall Very Fine, a very scarce grouping, includes Robinson 1987 Postal History Journal article regarding these Bhutan forerunner usages, ex Haverbeck, L. Robinson.

Tied by circular wreath cancels on 1868 folded letter to Cobja, letter datelined from Potosi; cover with few insect holes and file fold affecting top pair in block, Fine, a very rare stamp on cover particularly tied by the handstamped postmark.
