Mexico, 1868, 12c black on green, Durango. Imperf strip of four, strip of three and single, cons. 22-71, clear to mostly large margins, all tied by Franco boxed handstamps and fancy Inde wreath postmark (Schatzkes 260 & 261 - 270 points) on oversized official cover to Durango, with original enclosure, official handstamp on cover and letter, Very Fine and choice, a magnificent exhibition item from a very small mining village in northern Durango state.

Imperf, 12c (cons. 6-71) canceled by Leon and 25c (cons. 6-69) by the La Quemada Diligencias (stagecoach) marks (Schatzkes 504 & 517 respectively), clear to large margins, Very Fine, Diligencias Generales are much sought after; both signed Stout in pencil.

Imperf, cons. 6-71, Habilitado overprinted and used in Puebla, with a single Puebla overprint in the margin between stamps, horizontal pair, used in March, ample to large margins, horizontal crease, Very Fine appearance, most Habilitados are used in Veracruz, very scarce; with 1993 MEPSI certificate.

Imperf, cons. 12-72, tied by Salamanca fancy oval handstamp (Schatzkes 1330) on 1872 folded letter to Guanajuanto, "Abril 17" docketing, Very Fine, 1868 issues with the 1872 overprint are scarce, the first shipments of the 1872 Hidalgo Profile issue was sent to district offices on April 1st.
