Lot 1884

Australian States, Reference Collection. Well over 1,000 stamps arranged on album and stock pages in binder; New South Wales with genuine 1850 1d plate 1 & 2 examples and forgeries including Spiro and a Jeffry pair, 2d plate III Spiro forgeries, other View issue creations as well as a genuine 3d values, 1851-54 Laureated issues with Spiro values and Van Dyck unauthorized reprints including sheets and a 8d blue "proof" pair, 1854-55 Diadem issues with various forgery types including Oneglia and Spiro, Queensland with a mix of forgeries and genuine including later high values, similar Tasmania including a genuine unused #6 and a couple Oneglia creations, Victoria with a nice section of forged Half Length issues including multiples and on piece items, Oneglia and Jeffryes items including a Jeffryes 3d complete sheet of 50, similar later issues, good showing of Western Australia Swan forgeries, etc.; some duplication to be expected.

Danube Steam Navigation Co., (Austria) Reference Collection. Approximately 200 stamps in stockpages; mix of genuine, reprints and forgeries, also non-postal adhesives including a selection of large Package Control Stamps including reprints (no photo).

Brazil, Reference Collection. In excess of 500 stamps mostly on stockpages; mix of Bulls Eyes forgeries noting two genuine 90¢ worn impressions, later numerals including blocks and a hoard of perf'd forgeries.

British Guiana, Reference Collection. In excess of 400 items on album and stock pages; 1850-51 cottonreel facsimiles including one on portion of Fournier album page, 1865 reprints of the 1852 issue, 1856 issues include P. Winter and other modern type fakes, mix of 1860's ship types including Official overprints, reprints, proofs and some genuine, 1862 typeset border issues showing various forgeries and types, etc.; duplication to be expected.

Fantasies, Canadian Locals, Phantom Philately; includes the Baldwin's Railroad Postage bogus with the scarce Craig and Taylor creations, Bancroft's City Express including Nutter's "original design" and a litho "approved" design, study of Bell's Dispatch bogus types, International Express, Ker's City Post, Le Beau City Post, Whitteley's Express, Winslow & Co. Express labels, college stamps including British American College Stamp and Byant, Stratton & Co., includes other Cinderella items.

Well over 300 items arranged on album and stock pages in binder; includes a selection of QV forgeries of Antigua, Bahamas and Bermuda, British Honduras study of 1st issue forgery types including all Lowenthal values, genuine mint 1887 1sh gray, Jamaica including bisects tied on piece, nice section of Nevis including a couple different Oneglia fakes, Turks Islands forgery types including many Oneglia denominations including various cancels, on piece and one on original Paneli hand priced card, similar Virgin Islands including Spiro & Oneglia creations; duplication to be expected.

Cape of Good Hope & Natal, Reference Collection. Over 200 stamps on stock and album pages; 1853-64 triangle Hope issues with 1d & 4d value genuine and forgeries including Oneglia engraved, similar 6d & 1sh values, 1861, 1d & 4d Woodblocks including two used genuine of each (faults) as well as reprints and forgeries, seated Hope issues including forged surcharges and "G" Griqualand overprints, Mafeking issues tied on piece, a small section of Natal issues including QV genuine and facsimiles, embossed issues, etc.; duplication to be expected.

Ceylon, Reference Collection. 64 stamps on album and stockpages; early QV forgeries including 1d, 2, & 4d Oneglia engraved creations, 9d with genuine imperf (appears unused, cat $37,500 if genuine) and Jeffrys forgery, rebacked 1sh9d (likely the work of Sam Singer), later including forged overprints (no photo).

Thousands of stamps on album and stockpages mostly in 7 binders; with Albania with study of first issues on including an interesting section of the 1917 issue fakes, airmail overprint fakes, etc., Armenia with the 1921 issue fakes, Croatia stormtrooper souvenir sheet fakes, Czechoslovakia overprint forgeries, Estonia early issue fakes and airmail forgery types, Hungary first issue forgeries including 3 different Sperati creations (signed on reverse), 1924-25 airmail fakes in sheets and a stock of overprint material, Ingermanland, Lativa regular and airmail issues, Roumania with the vast array of counterfeit items including multiples and stocks of later issues, some interesting Russia back-of-the-book fakes, etc.

In excess of 1,500 stamps on stock and album pages in two binders; with a selection of Eagle & Crown issues followed by various Peace & Commerce forgeries including numerous surcharge and country overprints, page from Fournier album, Ballay issue forgeries, selection of Obock & Djibouti, includes a large section devoted to the Navigation & Commerce issues with the array of country forgeries, some duplicate material, etc.
