Liberia, 1860, 6¢ & 24¢ Black, Die Proofs. In black on thick card (75x115mm), reverse with "E.F.H., Harpenden" handstamp, accompanied by note which reads…From Alfred Harrison, 2nd son of Reverend James Knowles Harrison, Vicar of St. Clements, Barnsbury, London N., These impressions of two Liberian stamps, six cents & 24 cents were given to my friend above by the Liberian Consul in London, England - & he gave them to my brother who gave them to me about 1875 - Robert Pearsall, Very Fine, the unique set of first issue die proofs and The Only Classic Die Proofs in Existence, ex Cockrill.

Liberia, 1860, 12¢ Deep Blue. First transfer, block of 48 from the bottom of the sheet, full o.g., Cowan watermark at bottom, rich bright color, attractive allover centering, few small corner nicks at left and small facial scuff on one stamp at bottom right, F.-V.F., an attractive and scarce large pane.

Liberia, 1860, 12¢ Deep Blue. First transfer, complete sheet of 64, full dry o.g., without selvage as always, second & third horizontal row showing the "A. COWAN & SONS" watermark, rich color, minor perf crimping between fourth & fifth horizontal rows at left, still Very Fine, an first issue rarity with Only Four Intact Complete Sheets Known.

Liberia, 1860, 12¢ Deep Blue. First transfer, complete sheet of 64, full slightly brownish o.g., without selvage as always, fifth horizontal row showing the "A. COWAN & SONS" watermark, well centered throughout, rich color and remarkably fresh, few stamps with trivial tone spots in margin, Very Fine and choice, an exceptional sheet and One of the Finest of Four Known Intact Complete Sheets.

Second transfer, top margin vertical pair, o.g., margins large to into frameline at bottom, small scuff at bottom breaking paper, F.-V.F., an Exceptionally Rare Multiple From the Second Transfer with only a few known, grossly undercataloged in Scott, ex Napier, Cockrill. SG No. 4a.

Liberia, 1866-69, 6¢ Light Red. In combination with 1866-69, 12¢ light blue + 1880, 12¢ yellow on 1887, 10¢ registration entire to Freetown, Sierra Leone, all tied by "Monrovia, Liberia, Jul 1, 1889" cds's with matching boxed registry date stamp additionally tying 12¢, light Freetown receiving postmark at left, Very Fine, an extremely rare usage of the 1866-69 6¢ & 12¢ Fourth Transfer issues on cover, one of only two known covers bearing these issues, ex Cockrill; signed Holcombe.

Liberia, 1866-69, 12¢ Light Blue, Imperforate. Fourth transfer, right margin horizontal pair, without gum, full margins slightly into outer framelines, bright color, faint wrinkling in left stamp and small crease in selvage, F.-V.F., an extremely rare multiple with only a few known, ex Cockrill.

Fourth transfer, block of 32, without gum, bright vibrant color, few faint tone spots and top left stamp with unobtrusive closed tear, F.-V.F., the Largest Known Multiple of the 1866-69, 12¢ Pale Blue Issue which is thought to be a complete sheet, one of two known sheets known. SG No. 12.
