Liberia, 1943-44 Onward Air Transmission Covers. 2 covers to New York City bearing full clear strikes of red O.A.T. in oval handstamp; 1943 cover franked with Airmail 1938, 30¢ +50¢ tied by "Monrovia, 2.XI.1943" cds's, censor tape and red "A1" in circle routing handstamp, 1944 cover franked with Airmail 1942-44, 10¢ two singles + 50¢ tied by "Monrovia, 2.II.1944" cds's, censor tape at sides and violet "A2" in circle routing handstamp, Very Fine, very scarce usages.

The use of OAT markings are derived from a procedure in the carriage of mail before WWII which allowed mail to be sent with a choice of multiple modes of transmission between countries.
