Andrew Jackson Autograph & Prints, 1840's. Group of items, including manuscript letter acknowledging having received a map of Tennessee made by a friend and signed, "Your vy obt servant"; also 1835 Letters Patent signed by Jackson as President (probably by his secretary); a cut out of his signature and "Fraternally Yours" (may not be an autograph); several engravings & lithographs of Jackson and a 1930's guide to Hermitage.

Andrew Jackson Autographed Document. Partly engraved document signed by Jackson as President. One page tall folio, vellum, dated "March 12, 1836", countersigned by John Forsyth, Secretary of State, and by Benjamin F. Butler, Attorney General; nautical vignette at top, and embossed eagle-vignette seal; yellow silk ties remain; patent granted to John Ames (1800-1890) for his invention and useful improvement "In the Boiler for the generating of steam to be used in the drying of paper and for other purposes…"; Accompanied by a diagram sketch of the invention and two full pages of text describing its use; slight browning at extreme top and bottom of the document, otherwise fine., F.-V.F., exceptionally large Jackson signature.

Johnston Great Western Gun Works" to Cooperstown, N.Y., on reverse "Send for a Price Catalogue, Cash Paid for Army Guns & Revolvers", a Very Fine and most unusual shipping tag use for guns.

(French & Indian War) David Mitchell Bill of Lading, Aug. 24, 1759. Dated in London for a shipment of bullets and gunpowder, headed for South Carolina to be used in the French and Indian War, strong impression of "IIII Pence" tax stamp (the crown over the four-field flag), Very Fine.

(Postage Due) 1895, Carmine, Provisional "Due 2" Postage Due Overprint. Strip of three and single on legal size corner card cover to Detroit, Mich., cover franked with single 1895, 2¢ carmine (faulty) tied by light "Gainsville, Tex.,Jun 20, 1895" duplex postmark, "Due 8¢" in blue crayon, reverse with "Detroit, Mich., Rec'd, Jun 22, 95" backstamp; cover edge faults and left 2¢ in strip with some creasing, otherwise Fine, an extremely rare usage of the 1895 Detroit 2¢ Provisional Postage Dues on cover, one of two recorded usages of this 2¢ provisional postage due on cover and the only multiple usage; with 2008 P.F. certificate.
