Official Seal - Postage Stamp Agency, 1886, pink & red. Two examples affixed to 1889 registered package envelope from New York to Hiram, Me., neatly trimmed at right; also includes an unused (OXF6a), Fine, one of only two recorded examples of multiple seals used on a single envelope.

When the use of the 1872 registry seal was discontinued in 1875, the Postage Stamp Agency in New York was not satisfied with the security provided by the new Lewis patent envelopes and contracted with the Continental Bank Note Co. to prepare seals to secure the shipment of stamps from the Agency.

Official Seal - Postage Stamp Agency, 1897, rose & black. Faulty, affixed on registered envelope with additional Stamp Agency Label having "Kerr Craig" imprint updated to "Merrit", from Washington D.C. to Kent R.I., opened at right, Fine and unusual use.

Official Seal - Postage Stamp Agency, 1912, rose & black. Two examples affixed to large piece of wrapper front addressed from Washington D.C. to the Los Angeles postmaster, purple "Washington D.C. Registered Oct 22 1919" cds, Very Fine, these are the only two recorded examples of this seal, and one of only two recorded examples of multiple seals used on a single envelope.
