Charleston, S.C., Steinmeyer's City Post, 1859, 2¢ black on bluish, without gum, clear margins around, none of the translucent staining that plagues this issue, Fine, an attractive example of this carrier rarity, of which only five or six are known, ex Caspary, Golden; with 2000 P.F. certificate.

Type I, without gum, large margins all around with outer framelines complete on all four sides, intense shade and impression, Extremely Fine, the Finest of the Fourteen Recorded Examples of the St. Louis 2¢ Black Carrier Stamp, only two of the five recorded type I varieties are in sound condition, ex Caspary, Boker, Golden; with 1999 P.F. certificate.
