Canada, Canadian Postal Supply Company (a.k.a. Bickerdike Machine), Montreal April 13, 1898. Full bold strike of Type 6-1 "1837 V. R. 1897" flag cancel on corner card cover to Albany, N.Y. tying 2¢ carmine, Extremely Fine, known use of April 13-18 so this earliest known use, a rare Canada flag cancel, ex Puls, Bomar.

Canada, Hand Applied "Rocker Cancel", Victoria, B.C., Canada, Au 8 (19)01. Bold Type 13-1 flag and "Provincial Exhibition, Victoria, Oct. 1 to 5" shield cancel, on cover to Seattle tying 1899, 1¢ carmine, Very Fine and choice, this cancel believed to be the product of a locally created device intended to mimic a cancel in use at Toronto during the same time period, known dates of August 8 to August 22, so this represents a first day of use.

Lot of five "Ensign" flag cancels from Montreal and Ottawa, Montreal 'C' on postal card, Montreal 'F' on very nicely franked card to Bavaria, Ottawa two copies of year on bottom dial, a first day of use of the rare and controversial Montreal 'K' machine (It is believed by some that the Montreal 'K' flag cancels may be from a trial of a Bickerdike machine), F.-V.F. or better.
