Unpaid cover with "Fr/2f " tombstone per 30 grams bulk rate marking applied in Paris, handstamped "14" cents G.B. debit to the U.S. (10¢ French and 4¢ for British inland and sea). 2¢ U.S. inland was added, resulting in 16¢ due, with a depreciated currency marking of 18¢ due the addressee. Black handstamped "New York Post Office Advertised May 15" and "Cannot Be Found" on the front, "New York Jun 16" transit cds on the reverse and blue "Dead Letter Office U.S. Jun 17 1874" cds on the reverse; cover filing holes, Very Fine.

Unpair folded letter with "Fr/2f" tombstone handstamp per 30 grams bulk rate marking applied in Paris, handstamped rocking horse G.B. debit of "26 cents" to the U.S. applied in London for a letter weighing between 10 grams and a half ounce (double 10¢ French and 4¢ British inland and sea, plus 2¢ probably in error). 2¢ U.S. inland added to the debit resulting in 28¢ due in coin, or 31¢ in notes as noted by the "New York, Feb 27" depreciated currency cds., Very Fine.
