Liberia, 1952 Robertfield Registered Cover to England, oversized multifranked cover sent to Charles Hampton to Sussex, England from A.D. Peabody in Marshall (former mayor and superintendent of Marshall, also an opponent of President Tubman), notation on reverse reads…This envelope contained a photograph of House of Representative member A.D. Peabody's daughter who was to stay 6 months with Hampton's daughter. The photo was sent so she would be recognized on arrival. She never arrived & it was later discovered that Peabody had been put in jail - he was never heard of again; some faults, Fine.Estimate $75 - 100.
