1863, 2¢ black, Vertical Pair, perfs trimmed at top and tiny tear in bottom stamp, on reverse of cover with multicolored allover Magnus patriotic with Washington, Eagle & Liberty designs on front, addressed to Albany N.Y. with stamps canceled by "Philada. Pa., Post Office, Dec 29, '63" cds, with matching "Rose" fold-out enclosure showing 30 views in blue and bronze; few small cover tears and opened at sides for display, Very Fine, a magnificent and unique Blackjack usage on the Magnus Rose of Washington, One of the Truly Great United States Patriotic Covers; with 2009 P.F. certificate.

1863, 2¢ black, Two Singles, tied by target and "New Orleans, La., Sep 16, 1863" cds on red and blue Soldier and Liberty Allegorical Patriotic Cover to New York City, with "6" due handstamp applied in New York; few tiny cover tone spots and right stamp with perfs trimmed at right, otherwise Very Fine, a rare patriotic usage with Blackjacks only paying the double 2¢ ship rate; with 1990 P.F. certificate.

1863, 2¢ black, Horizontal Pair, tied by Cairo, Ill. cds and target duplex over "Provost Marshall General Office, Department of the Gulf, Official Business" imprint on cover to Philadelphia, Pa., with light "Pioneer Express, New Orleans, Jun 19, 1865" cds at bottom right, another faint circular date stamp at center with "… N.O. Packet" legible, F.-V.F., a unique reconstruction period usage of the Pioneer Express carrying cover from New Orleans, La. to Cairo, Ill. when it was placed in the mails, illustrated in the Lane book, ex Allen; with 1979 P.F. certificate.

1863, 2¢ black, couple nibbed perfs at lower right, tied by bold "Augusta, Me., Paid" circular handstamp on gray allover State of Maine, Adj't Generals Office patriotic state seal design, with original April 26, 1864 circular with matching letterhead regarding Navy & Marines enlistment; few minor faint cover stains, Very Fine and attractive.

(Germany) 1863, 2¢ black, paying the printed matter rate on fresh "Circular." handstamped wrapper to Bremen, Germany, tied by circle of wedges handstamp, blue "America, Uber Bremen, Franco" handstamp and large "½" sgr. accountancy handstamp, New York company backstamp and prices current; stamp with file fold crease at bottom, otherwise Extremely Fine, an attractive and scarce printed matter usage; with 2010 P.F. certificate states genuine usage, but declines opinion as to whether the prices current is original.
