Revenue Collection, 1862-98, 1st-3rd issues and some later documentary issues in Scott album; with a focus on 1st issues revenue with the majority of lower denomination issues having socked-on-the-nose handstamp cancellations and many sheet margin examples and some multiples, imperforate issues with corner margin singles including R54a, R61a & R62a, R71a with socked-on-the-nose handstamp cancel (cat $200), better higher denominations including R54a (Block of 8, Cat. $1200 as 2 blocks of 4), R76a vertical bottom margin pair ($275), R78a vertical pair with huge margins (ex Caspary), R81a-R82a, R85a-R86a, R94a pair (cat $350), R98a right margin single with ample to large margins around, etc., pleasant showing of part perf issues again with many socked-on-the-nose handstamp cancels, R64b with socked-on-the-nose handstamp cancel, etc., strong completion of perf'd issues with socked-on-the-nose handstamp cancels the rule and better including R2c, R17c, R79c-R80c, complete $2-$5 denominations, R101c (x 2), includes an additional run of 1st issue imperf including R101a, mint issues including part perf pairs, good showing of second and third issue with better including R122 (cat $400), etc.; condition well above the norm with many large margin and attractively canceled items.

Handstamp Cancellation Collection, a least three thousand stamps arranged by company in glassines in six glassine boxes; with sections including insurance companies, banks, oil companies, newspapers, mining, express, ships, customs, etc., also a section arranged by cities, mostly 1st issue revenues with some later issues and the occasional state revenue, section of playing card issues; a nice range of handstamp cancellations throughout, inspection a must.
Estimate    $2,000 - 3,000.

Revenue Balance, various issues in albums, on stockpages, binders, glassine, etc.; good showing of 1st issue material including many attractive handstamp cancels, margin singles, multiples including R98c pair, also a mix of other useful revenue issues; worth review.

First Issue Revenue Plate Varieties Collection, in glassine and mounted on pages in two binders, including plate scratches, cracks and double transfers; includes the array of issues from 1¢ issues up to the $50 value, 1¢ Express with foreign transfer at right variety singles and in pair, 2¢ Bank Check double transfer (T5) including on document, 2¢ Certificate double transfer (T7) on R8c in pair, the 2¢ Proprietary double transfer (T13) and complete double transfer (T13a) including in pre-printed cancel blocks, examples of the 50¢ Entry of Goods crack plate and double transfer, the 50¢ Mortgage big crack (position 64 & 81), and reconstruction of the long crack (position 26, 42-43) as well as other varieties, other double transfers including on document with enlarged diagrams as well as a host of unmounted material in glassines; a lovely collection for the specialist.

1862, 5¢ Certificate & 5¢ Inland Exchange Plating Accumulation, a hoard of strips and blocks of each issue, with some of the 5¢ Certificate multiples on pages and positions identified, 5¢ Inland Exchange including a mint o.g. left margin "00" inscription block of 16; ideal for the plating specialist.

(B-2A-3 in red and black), Boston & Albany (6 types), socked-on-the-nose Cleveland & Pittsburgh boxed date stamp on R54b (C-19B), manuscript Holliday's Cove R.R. on $20 Conveyance R98a (H-11), unlisted Milwaukee & Prairie Du Chien cds, other noted discovery copies include Cincinnati & Chicago Air Line R.R. (C-46), Delaware & Hudson Canal (D-16, "listing example"), Houston & Texas Central (H-7A), Indianapolis & Cincinnati (I-2F), Little Miami, Columbus & Xenia (L-7L), McGregor Western (M-28), Ottawa, Oswego & Fox River Valley (O-11), and manuscript Pittsburgh, Ft. Revenue Issues on Railroad Documents, approximately 50 items, mostly with a variety of revenue issues from 1st issue general to stamp revenue paper; including a host of bankchecks from railroads and many illustrated including Virginia & Truckee R.R., Lehigh Valley R.R., New York & New Haven R.R., Central Railroad Co. of N.J., etc., other documents including way bills for Boston & Providence Railroad Corp. and San Francisco & San Joaquin Valley Railway Co., receipts for capitol stock in the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific R.R. Co., Illinois Central Railroad Co. construction bond, stock certificates for the Old Colony & Newport Railway Co. and Mansfield & Farmingham Railroad Co., etc.; condition a little varied with some duplication.

Special Tax Stamp Revenue Collection, 1874-1916, of over 250 items; spanning the range of issues with a comprehensive range of years; liquor issues from Retail Dealer in Malt Liquor to One Worm issues with the host of dealer and manufacturer issues, similar tobacco issues for various dealers and tobacco classes; a wonderful collection with condition varied but a bit above the norm overall for these large tax stamp issues.
