Gorman & Bro., 1¢ Black, Old Paper, uncommonly well centered with perforations well clear of design, rich bold color, Very Fine, a wonderfully choice and sound example of the Gorman & Bro. 1¢ Black Match issue, very rare in such exceptional condition, only 29 are recorded in the Aldrich census (of which 13 are reported to be faulty).

This stamp is known as being notoriously off-centered, with 21 of the 29 recorded examples having perforations cutting into the design.
